"Equal dark, equal light Flow in Circle, deep insight Blessed Be, Blessed Be The transformation of energy! - From Night An'Fey, Transformation of Energy
It was the spring equinox on the 20th, when the length of day and night are equal. I’ve certainly noticed the lengthening daylight, so let’s hope this encourages some growth in the garden. The bulbs are doing well still. Many crocus are still up and some mini tulips and daffodils are coming through too.
I’ve been going round the tubs of plants that we still have out from last year, to see what has survived the winter. Some areas of the garden are more sheltered, particularly by the fireplaces. Here, the violas are still flowering and I am hoping a few geraniums and shrubs will be ok too.
I put a pot over the rhubarb shoot to protect it from last weekend’s weather. It might force the rhubarb a bit too. I’ll be happier when it is bigger than the slugs in the garden.
If you are planting by the moon, you need to plant things growing underground this week. But I’m not risking any seeds outside yet. However I’m getting the potato tub ready for the seed potatoes that have been chitting at home since January. Hopefully for planting up at Easter.
