"Daffodils, That come before the swallow dares, and take The winds of March with beauty." - William Shakespeare
Well it’s a very cold and blowy day in the garden, although the snow is slowly melting. So cold that I really didn’t want to be outdoors much today. No sign of our daffodils yet, in fact our bulbs seem reluctant to come out in this weather too. Only our crocuses and signs of a few tulips so far. I checked the rhubarb tub for slugs. None in sight, so I assume they are either hiding or frozen solid.
I also put out bird food for the many birds that come to the garden. Fat balls on sticks that we made at Christmas and some extra seed on the garden table. It has turned into a bit of a bird table for now, but it’s important to feed the birds at the moment. And in the warmer weather they help our garden by eating unwanted insects and bugs.
