Old Town Bloom is a temporary art project that turned into a community garden, and here we are eight years later, still trying to figure out what we are doing. What we have realised is that even a small plot of land can make a big difference, to us as the volunteers, and to everyone that enjoys the space. As Runcorn High Street changes, it means our first home will be redeveloped into something new, so what now? It's time to hit the road, and we are taking Old Town Bloom with us, thanks to funding from the Liverpool City Region Environment Fund.
What: How well do you know your local community garden spaces? Join us as we walk from as many spaces as we can, doing a spot of litter picking along the way. Some of the community garden spaces will also play host to an informative workshop.
Themes: Bug Hunting, Growing food for beasts (not just humans), Up cycling tips - everything from planting up an old toilet to a Christmas pallet tree, Wildflower seeds and more.
When: Launching on October 28th and will continue till April 2023 (Follow online to find out more) - dates and times will be announced as we confirm venues.
Where: On sites across Runcorn, including Old Town Bloom Community Garden (Runcorn High Street), Chi Cafe, and more to be announced
Who: As well as the Old Town Bloomers leading some sessions, we will also be inviting some of our friends to lead the sessions, including Naomi from Animal Teach.
Update: What have we done so far?
